Bolzano police operation results in arrests for theft, drugs and traffic violations
Italian authorities carried out a large‑scale security operation in the city of Bolzano and surrounding areas. The effort, coordinated by the State Police, Carabinieri, and local police forces, focused on checkpoints, surveillance and rapid response teams.
During the operation, a 53‑year‑old Italian man and a 49‑year‑old Kosovo woman were arrested for armed robbery after a violent altercation in a shopping centre. A 26‑year‑old Tunisian asylum seeker was detained for a shop burglary and possession of a sealed packet of about 15 g of hashish. A 27‑year‑old Italian was also caught stealing shoes in another mall. Separate traffic checks in Biancavilla led to five drivers being cited, fines totalling €14,710 and the administrative seizure of eight vehicles.
The coordinated crackdown resulted in multiple criminal charges and reinforced local public‑order measures.
