Bomas International Convention Complex nears completion
Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has announced that the Bomas International Convention Complex (BICC) is nearing completion. The project, supervised by Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Engineers, is currently undergoing final interior works, tiling, glazing, roofing, and the construction of access roads.
Spanning over 323,500 square meters, the BICC will feature an 11,000-delegate convention arena, 35 meeting rooms, a 5,000-seat main auditorium, and a 3,500-seat secondary hall. The facility is also designed to include a Presidential Pavilion capable of hosting up to 30 Heads of State and a 3,000-capacity banquet hall.
Omollo stated that the complex aims to position Nairobi as a competitive global commercial capital and boost business tourism by integrating Kenya’s cultural and wildlife heritage. Future development phases are expected to include luxury hotels, a shopping mall, a food court, recreational facilities, a heliport, and an animal orphanage.
