Bombardier to invest $270 million in U.S. infrastructure expansion

Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier has announced an initial $270 million investment to expand its infrastructure and service network across the United States. The expansion plan includes hiring 800 employees across four states: Kansas, Texas, Indiana, and Connecticut.

Bombardier is currently recruiting for 500 positions, with an additional 300 jobs expected to be created through expansion projects. Of these new roles, 150 are slated for Texas. Key projects include a new service center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, scheduled to open in November, and facility expansions in Dallas and Connecticut. The company also recently invested $50 million in a North American Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas.

The announcement follows previous tensions between the U.S. administration and the manufacturer. In September 2026, President Donald Trump had suggested that Bombardier might be barred from selling aircraft in the U.S. unless it increased domestic manufacturing. President Trump credited Kansas Senator Roger Marshall and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for helping secure the deal, noting that the investment would support American aerospace workers and manufacturing.
