Bombardier to invest $270 million in US expansion
Canadian aerospace manufacturer Bombardier is investing $270 million to expand its operations across the United States. This initiative is expected to create 800 new jobs distributed across four states: Connecticut, Indiana, Texas, and Kansas.
The expansion follows a period of political tension regarding the company's access to the American market. After previous warnings of potential exclusion, President Donald Trump indicated he would not seek to harm the company or its workforce, particularly noting the impact on employees in regions like Wichita, Kansas.
Bombardier CEO Eric Martel stated that constructive discussions with the US government paved the way for this strengthened presence. The investment will focus on infrastructure to support specialized personnel and growth initiatives.
