Bombay High Court clerk exam glitches spark protests in Maharashtra

Job aspirants in Maharashtra have suspended their protests in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar following technical glitches during a Bombay High Court clerk recruitment typing test. The protesters have issued a one-week ultimatum to the administration to rectify the issues and announce a re-examination.

Candidates reported significant hardware and software failures during the exam, including non-functional keyboards and computer screens turning yellow. Approximately 13,000 candidates were eligible for the 1,300 clerk positions under the Nagpur and Aurangabad benches of the High Court. Around 2,900 candidates from the Marathwada and Vidarbha regions appeared for the test.

Abhijeet Dipke, convenor of the Cockroach Janta Party, joined the demonstration and characterized the technical failures as a ‘system failure.’ The Bombay High Court registrar (personnel) acknowledged that technical issues were reported at certain centers, specifically in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Kalyan, and stated that the agency's processes are currently being examined.
