Bombay High Court dismisses NEET aspirant's marks challenge
The Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition filed by a 17-year-old NEET aspirant who challenged her examination results. The petitioner, Shrishti Shantibodh Mishra, claimed that her score of 160 out of 720 marks was arbitrary and did not reflect her actual responses, asserting she expected approximately 680 marks.
During the legal proceedings, authorities allowed the student to personally inspect her original OMR answer sheet to ensure fairness. The inspection established that the score issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) was correct. Consequently, the division bench consisting of Justice Anil S. Kilor and Justice Rajnish R. Vyas dismissed the writ petition and imposed costs of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner.
