Bon Odori Summer Festivals Begin in Tokyo Region

Bon odori dance festivals launched across the Tokyo metropolitan area in mid‑July 2026. In Kawasaki City’s Odai Park, the event ran on July 17‑18, featuring six traditional songs such as “Kawasaki Odori” and “Shonen Yagi‑bushi,” open‑air drums, a bingo raffle and food stalls.

Liberal Democratic Party lawmaker Akihisa Nagashima reported attending multiple bon odori celebrations on July 18 in Inagi, Fuchu, Tama and other neighborhoods, meeting local residents and supporting the seasonal festivities as part of his constituency work.
