Bonaire celebrates Dia di Boneiru and hosts BES Summit

Bonaire is celebrating Dia di Boneiru (Bonaire Day), also known as Dia di Himno i Bandera, on September 6. The holiday honors the island's culture and identity through ceremonies, music, and dance. The celebration emphasizes the significance of the national flag and anthem, with the flag's colors representing the sea, sun, peace, and freedom.

In conjunction with the festivities, a delegation from the Saba Island Council has traveled to Bonaire to participate in the annual BES Summit. The summit brings together representatives from Saba, St. Eustatius, and Bonaire to discuss mutual interests, review annual progress, and set priorities for cooperation within the Caribbean Netherlands.

Following the summit and celebrations, officials will hold a two-day working session focused on improving public service delivery across the three Caribbean Netherlands public entities.
