Bonao declares September 5 as Literature Day

The municipality of Bonao has officially declared September 5 as ‘Bonao Literature Day’ following a municipal resolution. The announcement was made during a gathering of writers, poets, and cultural managers from various regions, including La Vega, Jarabacoa, and Cotuí.

Freddy Amadís, president of the Sala Capitular of the Bonao City Council, presented the certification to the Unión de Escritores de Monseñor Nouel. The initiative aims to support local cultural entities, encourage reading habits, and stimulate literary production. The resolution seeks to establish September 5 as a permanent fixture on the local cultural agenda, featuring events such as literary meetings, conferences, book presentations, and poetry readings to engage the community and younger generations.
