Bonchon restaurant receives low health score in Murfreesboro

Routine health inspections conducted in Rutherford County between August 4 and August 11, 2026, revealed varying safety scores across several food service and childcare establishments.

Bonchon, located at 1718 Memorial Blvd in Murfreesboro, received a score of 73. Inspectors identified eight violations, including the absence of a person in charge, improper hot holding temperatures for cooked chicken, and an expired 5-gallon bucket of kimchi. The expired kimchi resulted in an embargo of nearly 50 lbs of the product. Other cited issues included unlabeled spray bottles, improper storage of wiping cloths, and an employee eating in a food preparation area. A follow-up inspection is required within 10 days.

Other local establishments reported high scores during the same period, including Chuy's Restaurant and CoreLife Eatery, both receiving scores of 99. Various swimming pools and childcare facilities in Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and Rockvale also underwent routine inspections.
