Bond University wins 2026 QAFLW premiership

Bond University has secured the 2026 QAFLW premiership, defeating Southport by 18 points at Brighton Homes Arena. The victory marks the club’s second QAFLW title and ends Southport’s period of dominance in the competition.

Bond University controlled the match from the opening minute, ultimately finishing with a score of 6. 4 (40) against Southport’s 3. 4 (22). Shannon Nolan was awarded the Best on Ground medal for her influential performance, recording 26 disposals, eight tackles, and six inside 50s. Other key contributors for the Bull Sharks included Evy Reeves and Skye White.

Head Coach Andy Lovell attributed the win to the team’s resilience and professionalism throughout a challenging season, noting that the group had to win three knockout finals to secure the championship.
