Bondalti completes €76 million decarbonisation project at Estarreja plant

Bondalti Chemicals announced the completion of its REPower decarbonisation project at the Estarreja industrial complex in Portugal. The €76 million investment, of which €32 million was supplied by the national Recovery and Resilience Programme (PRR), will cut CO₂ emissions by about 36 000 tonnes per year.

The project introduced solar parks for self‑consumption, large‑scale industrial‑grade energy storage, electrified steam production with electric boilers, and nine state‑of‑the‑art electrolyzers. The launch ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, Environment and Energy Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho and other senior officials.
