Bondi Beach shootings: Survivors face invisible wounds

The Chanukah by the Sea massacre at Bondi Beach resulted in 15 deaths and left many survivors grappling with psychological trauma. During the attack, several individuals were credited with saving lives through direct intervention.

Reuven Morrison attempted to distract the gunmen, an act that ultimately cost him his life but provided critical time for others to flee or take cover. Ahmad Al-Ahmed also intervened by tackling one of the gunmen. These actions allowed Cesar Barraza, an officer on duty at a local police station, to arrive at the scene and neutralize both gunmen using a single pistol against their cache of hunting rifles and shotguns.

While much attention has focused on the physical injuries and the identities of the deceased, there is a growing emphasis on the 'invisible wounds' of survivors who suffered no physical trauma but remain deeply affected by the event.
