Bondoufle: Professional exterminator shoots partner during pest control

Bondoufle Essonne pest control attempted homicide sanitary shoot

A 54-year-old woman was critically injured by a rifle shot on Saturday, October 24, in the Bondoufle industrial zone in Essonne, France. The victim sustained a severe head wound and was transported to Percy Hospital in Clamart.

The suspect, the victim's partner and a professional exterminator, claimed he mistook his companion for a rodent while performing a ‘sanitary shoot’ using an air rifle in a cold storage warehouse. He stated he heard a noise in the darkness and fired, believing he was targeting a rat.

Authorities have opened an investigation for ‘attempted homicide of a spouse’ through the Évry-Courcouronnes prosecutor's office. The man has been taken into custody as investigators work to determine if the incident was a tragic accident or an intentional act.
