Bonghwa County implements new administrative and environmental initiatives

Bonghwa County is implementing several administrative initiatives to improve local governance and environmental protection. The county has signed an agreement with Bonghwa Credit Union to establish dedicated accounts for local government subsidies. This move aims to increase the transparency and convenience of subsidy management by allowing residents, particularly those in remote areas with limited access to major commercial banks, to use local financial institutions.

In environmental efforts, Bonghwa County entered into a partnership with the Yeongju National Forest Management Office to combat the spread of pine wilt disease. The two entities will establish joint prevention zones and share information to protect local pine forests from infestation.

Additionally, the county is managing social welfare programs, including accepting applications for the 2026 Filial Piety Incentive, which provides 300,000 KRW to multi-generational households supporting elderly parents. The county also held a public hearing for the 6th Regional Social Security Plan, a mid-to-long-term strategy covering 2027 to 2030 to address local welfare needs.
