Bonghwa County launches long-term healing industry roadmap through 2035
Bonghwa County has launched a long-term development plan to foster a healing industry by 2035, utilizing its abundant forest, agricultural, and natural resources. During a recent interim report meeting, officials discussed integrating artificial intelligence (AI) with the region's natural, cultural, and agricultural assets to create a specialized industrial ecosystem.
The vision aims to establish Bonghwa as the “capital of the healing industry in South Korea.” The strategy focuses on linking various resources—including mineral water, historical culture, food, and sleep therapy—to encourage longer visitor stays, repeat visits, and increased local consumption. Rather than focusing solely on simple tourism or experience-based programs, the county intends to build a differentiated ecosystem that merges nature with advanced technology and industry.
