Bonghwa County launches nutritional care service for elderly
Bonghwa County has entered into a partnership with the Bonghwa Post Office and the Post Office Public Interest Foundation to launch the ‘2026 Nutrition Filling Relief Care Service’. This initiative aims to provide nutritional snacks and wellness checks for 50 elderly individuals, including those receiving integrated care and patients recently discharged from hospitals.
Under the agreement, postal workers will visit target households twice a month to deliver nutritional items such as porridge and fruit sets while monitoring the residents' living conditions. Bonghwa County will manage administrative support and beneficiary identification, while the Post Office Public Interest Foundation will provide operational funding and care fees. The program seeks to utilize the existing local network of postal workers to address care gaps in rural areas and establish a sustainable community-based safety net.
