Bonghwa County launches support project for young farmers

Bonghwa County has announced a call for applications for its 'Young Farmer Self-Reliance Foundation Support Project.' The initiative aims to establish a stable income base for young farmers settled in the region and to cultivate next-generation agricultural leaders.

Selected projects will receive up to 100 million KRW per site, consisting of a 70% subsidy and a 30% self-funded portion. The support covers various sectors, including the production, processing, and distribution of agricultural products, as well as rural experience tourism. Specific areas of support include the introduction of new technologies, facilities and equipment to reduce labor and production costs, product and brand development, and the creation of websites and packaging designs.

Eligible applicants must be young farmers aged 39 or younger (born after January 1, 1987) who have completed or been exempted from military service and are registered as agricultural business entities. Following a local review by Bonghwa County, candidates will be recommended to Gyeongsangbuk-do for final selection. A total of 15 sites will be chosen across the province by December. Interested individuals must submit their applications and business plans to the Bonghwa County Agricultural Technology Center by October 6.
