Bonghwa County seeks to expand cultural and educational ties with Vietnam

Bonghwa County is working to expand cooperation with Vietnam by focusing on cultural, educational, and human exchanges. To facilitate this, Bonghwa County Mayor Choi Ki-young met with Vietnamese Ambassador Vu Ho at the Vietnamese Embassy in South Korea on the 24th.

The discussions centered on leveraging the 800th anniversary of Prince Ly Yong-sang of the Ly Dynasty settling in Korea as a foundation for long-term partnership. Proposed initiatives include hosting commemorative events, attracting a Vietnamese Cultural Center, and establishing a multicultural international school.

Additionally, the county’s ‘K-Vietnam Valley’ project has gained momentum following its designation as a regional specialized development zone by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The project aims to integrate historical and cultural content with economic cooperation to foster mutual growth between Bonghwa and Vietnam.
