Bonghwa County to maintain 115.58 km of forest roads

Bonghwa County is initiating a systematic maintenance and management project for 115.58 km of forest roads across 32 routes. The initiative aims to improve forest management efficiency and strengthen rapid response capabilities against forest disasters, such as wildfires, heavy rains, and pest infestations.

As part of the project, the county will conduct emergency repairs on sections damaged by heavy rainfall in July to ensure user safety and smooth passage. From August to November, maintenance activities including grass cutting and environmental cleanup will be carried out. Forest road managers will be deployed to 55 km of the routes, while heavy equipment will be used for the remaining 60 km.

Additionally, the county is constructing 2 km of new forest roads in the Yugok and Buncheon areas. These new routes are expected to improve accessibility for forest management and enhance response times during natural disasters.
