Bonghwa-gun launches Bonghwa Eoullim Center cultural hub

Bonghwa-gun has announced the full-scale operation of the Bonghwa Eoullim Center starting this October. Designed as a community-based cultural platform, the center aims to provide residents with spaces for relaxation, cultural experiences, and social connection under the philosophy of ‘slowness, recovery, and connection.’

The center will launch several specialized programs, including an aromatherapy session titled ‘Meeting My Healthy Day Through Scent,’ theater experiences, and Christmas gardening workshops. Notably, the center is offering an inclusive program called ‘Books That Tell, Hearts That Connect,’ specifically designed for the visually impaired in collaboration with the Bonghwa-gun Life Mobility Support Center. This program features book readings accompanied by music to enhance accessibility for culturally marginalized groups.

A signature event, the ‘Starlight Moonlight Reading Camp,’ is scheduled for October 11. The event will feature an open outdoor bookstore, book talks, music, and activities such as making book perfumes and ‘moonlight spacing out’ to allow residents to unwind in a natural setting. Bonghwa-gun intends to support resident-led clubs and expand diverse cultural programs to foster a vibrant local community.
