Bonhams to auction iconic memorabilia from Stanley Kubrick and Cyndi Lauper
The auction house Bonhams will host significant sales of personal and professional memorabilia from filmmaker Stanley Kubrick and singer Cyndi Lauper.
Kubrick’s collection, scheduled for auction in London on February 3, includes legendary props such as the axe used in ‘The Shining’ and the star child figure from ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’. The star child figure is estimated to reach $1.1 million, while the axe is valued at up to $66,000. Other items include production elements from ‘Spartacus’ and ‘Barry Lyndon’, annotated scripts, and the director’s personal chair.
In New York, Bonhams will also present ‘Cyndi Lauper: A Suitcase of Memories’ on October 22 and 23. This auction commemorates the 40th anniversary of her album ‘True Colors’ and features iconic wardrobe pieces, including the animal print pajamas from the ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ music video and the red plaid dress worn at the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards. The collection also encompasses musical instruments, awards, and personal accessories.
