Boni rebuts online insult, urges civility

Boni, the 90‑year‑old former director of Brazil’s Globo network, responded calmly to a net‑user who called him “gagá” on social media. In a video he recalled the behind‑the‑scenes choice of the Jornal Nacional theme, noting it was inspired by the track “The Fuzz” and that some fans confused it with Pink Floyd’s “Summer of 68”. He wrote, “Pelo amor de Deus, nada de grosserias,” asking for respectful discussion.

The reply was praised by followers, and Boni also used the moment to announce he will step back from daily management of TV Vanguarda, the Globo affiliate in São Paulo’s interior, remaining only as a shareholder.
