Boniprati celebrates tenth Desmalgada livestock festival

The Boniprati plateau hosted the tenth edition of the Desmalgada, a traditional event marking the return of livestock from high-altitude summer pastures to the valley. The celebration drew thousands of visitors and featured a parade of cattle, sheep, and other farm animals decorated for the occasion.

In addition to the parade, the event highlighted the agricultural heritage of the Valle del Chiese through local food tastings and traditional lunches. Educational activities for families included cheese-making demonstrations, milking workshops, and educational farm experiences. Musical groups, including the Knödel Bergmusikanten of Strembo and local bands from Pieve di Bono and San Giorgio di Castel Condino, provided folkloric accompaniment.

Provincial officials, including Francesca Gerosa and Roberto Failoni, attended the festivities. Gerosa emphasized the event's role in preserving cultural identity and transmitting mountain traditions to younger generations, while local mayors expressed pride in the event's growth and its ability to showcase the region's agricultural sector.
