Bonito launches 2025–2030 Climate Action Plan for sustainable tourism
The municipality of Bonito has launched its 2025–2030 Climate Action Plan, aimed at strengthening sustainable tourism and addressing climate change. Unveiled during the ABAV Expo 2026 in São Paulo, the plan includes mitigation and adaptation strategies supported by the Mato Grosso do Sul Tourism Foundation (Fundtur-MS). The initiative aligns with the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism and supports the state's goal of carbon neutrality by 2030.
In the broader Brazilian economy, small businesses—comprising individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI), micro-enterprises (ME), and small businesses (EPP)—accounted for approximately 96.5% of the 452,600 new business registrations in September. This represents a 5.5% increase compared to September 2025. The service sector led this growth, followed by commerce and industry.
Additionally, Sebrae facilitated business rounds at the ABAV Expo to connect 123 small tourism businesses from 24 Brazilian states with international buyers. These efforts aim to promote Brazilian tourism experiences to global markets, including France, Italy, and China.
