Bonn Autobahn 555 Crash Kills One, Injures Another

On the night of 9 July 2026 at 22:01, a severe traffic accident occurred on Germany’s Autobahn 555 near the Bornheim and Wesseling exits, heading toward Cologne. A car left the roadway for unknown reasons, broke through the safety barrier, struck a tree and burst into flames. Two occupants were ejected; one suffered fatal injuries despite immediate resuscitation attempts and died at the scene, while the second was seriously injured and transported to a Bonn hospital.

Firefighters extinguished the burning vehicle fragments and supported emergency medical crews.
