Bonn celebrates United Nations Day and 30 years as a UN city

Bonn celebrated United Nations Day on October 10, 2026, marking 30 years of the city serving as a UN location. The event featured an information stand organized by the UNAIDS Germany representative office and the AIDS-Initiative Bonn e. V. (AIB).

UNAIDS, which coordinates eleven UN organizations, aims to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030 through goals of zero new infections, zero discrimination, and zero AIDS-related deaths. The initiative highlighted the importance of HIV testing and provided multilingual educational materials. Local officials, including Mayor Dr. Ursula Sautter and Nathanael Liminiski, the Minister for Federal and European Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited the stand.
