Bonn Court to Rule on Murder Indictment in Eritrean Woman Case

The Bonn public prosecutor’s office has filed murder and child‑abandonment charges against the partner of a 32‑year‑old Eritrean woman whose dismembered body parts – hands, head and torso – were discovered in three German states: North Rhine‑Westphalia, Rhineland‑Palatinate and Hesse. The woman had been living in a refugee shelter in Bonn. A three‑month‑old infant was found unharmed near a monastery in Waldsolms, Hesse. The suspect, aged 41 at the time of the crime, fled to Ethiopia and was later extradited to Germany. The Landgericht Bonn must now decide whether to admit the murder indictment. The case was first reported on 31 July 2026.
