Bonn launches interactive map for St. Martin's Day processions
The city of Bonn has released an interactive map to help residents track various St. Martin's Day lantern processions scheduled around November 11, 2026. The map, provided by the Office for Land Management and Geoinformation, allows users to locate nearby parades and view start and end times for known routes.
One of the largest events, organized by the St. Martin Catholic Parish, will take place on November 4, 2026, in Bonn's city center. The procession is set to begin at 16:30 at Münsterplatz, moving through Remigiusstraße and Acherstraße before returning to Münsterplatz. The event will conclude with a traditional St. Martin's bonfire in front of the Old Town Hall, which city officials are preparing with protective sand layers to shield the cobblestones from heat.
Additionally, local community activities include a St. Martin's lottery featuring various prizes such as school supplies, electronics, and toys, with tickets available through local schools, kindergartens, and participating businesses.
