Bonn police launch senior pedelec course amid e-bike tech advances
In Bonn, Germany, the local police are launching a specialized three-day pedelec course in October designed specifically for senior citizens. The initiative aims to increase mobility for older adults while addressing safety concerns, as seniors accounted for approximately 25 percent of the 270 pedelec-related injuries reported by the Bonn police last year.
Simultaneously, technological advancements in the e-bike sector are expanding through smart connectivity. Bosch is enhancing its eBike Flow app, which integrates navigation, security, and performance features. Recent updates allow for AI-supported range planning, customizable motor output, digital theft protection, and improved navigation capabilities, such as saving favorite destinations and adjusting routes mid-ride via the display.
