Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival canceled for 2027

Organizers of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival have announced that the event will not take place in 2027. The decision marks the first voluntary hiatus for the Manchester, Tennessee, festival since its 2002 debut.

The cancellation is attributed to the need for the festival grounds, known as The Farm, to recover from consecutive years of severe weather disruptions. Despite significant investments prior to the 2026 festival—including improved drainage, 4.5 miles of new roadways, and 135 acres of new grass—the site suffered damage from back-to-back storms. The 2026 edition faced evacuations and heavy rain on its final day, following a 2025 festival that was cut short by flooding.

In a statement, organizers noted that the break is intended to make the festival better in the long run, with plans to return in 2028. The hiatus follows a period of operational challenges, including cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
