Bonnie Tyler exits coma but remains seriously ill after surgery complications

British rock singer Bonnie Tyler, 75, was operated on in Faro, Portugal for a perforated intestine in late April. Post‑operative complications led to a cardiac arrest when doctors attempted to awaken her from an induced coma, and a serious infection subsequently developed. As of 15 June, her management confirmed she is no longer in a coma but remains in intensive care with a slow recovery.

All of Tyler’s scheduled performances through August have been cancelled or postponed, with hopes that her autumn concerts can still proceed. The singer and her husband, Robert Sullivan, own property near the Faro hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.
