Bonnie Tyler honored with public funeral in Wales
Singer Bonnie Tyler was honored with a public funeral in her native Wales on August 17. The ceremony in Swansea preceded a final procession through her birthplace, Skewen. During the service, the choir Only Men Aloud performed ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’.
Tyler passed away unexpectedly on July 8 at the age of 75 in a Portuguese hospital, where she was receiving treatment following a serious intestinal procedure. She was internationally recognized for her distinctive raspy voice, a characteristic that became more pronounced following a vocal cord surgery. Her most notable hits include ‘It’s a Heartache’, ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, and ‘Holding Out for a Hero’.
