Bonnie Tyler's Funeral to Be Live‑Streamed Worldwide on Aug 17

Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, died on 8 July 2026 at age 75 in a hospital in Faro, Portugal, after complications from emergency intestinal surgery. Her family has announced that a public celebration of life service will be held at St Mary’s Church (Swansea Minster) in Wales on 17 August, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and the service beginning at noon. The ceremony will be streamed live on the artist’s official website and shown on large television screens outside the church for fans unable to enter. On 15 August the coffin will be moved to Tyler’s home in Mumbles, where the public is invited to line Newton Road from 15:15 BST to pay respects. After the service, the cortege will travel to her hometown of Skewen, Neath Port Talbot. The family asked for donations to charitable causes instead of flowers.
