Bonnie Tyler's Funeral Set for Live Global Stream on Aug. 17
Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler died on 8 July 2026 at age 75 in a hospital in Faro, Portugal, following complications from emergency intestinal surgery. Her family announced the death on her official website and said she passed away unexpectedly.
A public funeral service is scheduled for 17 August at St Mary’s Church (Swansea Minster) in Swansea, Wales. Two days earlier, on 15 August, the coffin will be placed for a public procession in Mumbles, after which it will travel through the singer’s hometown of Skewen before the private family burial. The family has asked fans to line Newton Road along the route and to send flowers only to close relatives.
The ceremony will be streamed live worldwide via Bonnie Tyler’s official website and broadcast on screens outside the church. Fans worldwide are invited to watch the service online.
The BBC aired a special tribute programme on 25 July, featuring clips from Tyler’s five‑decade career; viewers reported emotional reactions. The family also requested donations to Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales and Cerebral Palsy Cymru in lieu of flowers.
