Bono discusses U2 tour and Republican Party hijacking
U2 frontman Bono has addressed the political landscape and the band's upcoming tour in a recent interview. Regarding American politics, Bono stated that the Republican Party has undergone an “aggressive takeover” by the Trump administration, describing it as a “hijacking.” He expressed a desire to reconcile with conservative voters who may feel alienated from the band, noting that he does not want to “put off good people who vote conservative.”
Addressing the band's upcoming “The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour,” which begins in Mexico City on February 23, Bono commented on ticket pricing. While acknowledging that many fans may be overpaying, he stated the band has “no problem separating rich people from their money” if they choose to pay premium prices. He noted that the band attempts to keep the best seats in the house among the most affordable options, though he claimed the band has “very little” control over overall pricing.
U2's 16th album, Carnaval De Luz, is scheduled for release on November 13. Additionally, the band is set to perform as the halftime act for the NFL’s first Thanksgiving Eve game, streaming on Netflix on November 25.
