Bonobo announces new album ‘Distance in Static’

Electronic music producer Bonobo, also known as Simon Green, has announced his upcoming studio album, ‘Distance in Static’, scheduled for release on September 11 through Ninja Tune. The project follows his 2022 album ‘Fragments’ and his recent work on the anime soundtrack ‘Lazarus’.

Green described the concept of the new title as an attempt to find a signal within noise. The album features a diverse range of vocal collaborators, including Arooj Aftab, Nilüfer Yanya, Joy Crookes, Ichiko Aoba, Nicole Miglis, and Aanya Martin.

One of the latest singles, ‘Talk to Me’, is a collaboration with Nicole Miglis. Green revealed that the track originated from a spontaneous recording of Miglis’s vocal warm-ups in a backstage corridor in Vienna during the ‘Fragments’ tour. Other recently released tracks include ‘Always on Your Side’ featuring Joy Crookes and ‘Fire on the Water’ featuring Arooj Aftab.
