Bonomo Hospital in Andria launches music therapy project

The Bonomo Hospital in Andria has introduced a music therapy initiative titled ‘Note magiche in corsia’ (Magic Notes in the Ward) within its Pediatrics and Neonatology unit. Directed by Dr. Domenico Paternostro, the project is organized by the Accademia Musicale Federiciana.

The program consists of three educational and musical sessions scheduled from late October through December. These sessions are designed to provide hospitalized children with opportunities for listening, active participation, creativity, and sharing. The initiative aims to humanize patient care by using sound, rhythm, and melody to help children express emotions, alleviate anxiety, and reduce the stress associated with hospitalization.

The scheduled activities include ‘Il Ritrovo dei Suoni’ on October 30, focusing on sound exploration through play and simple instruments; ‘Fiabe di Fogli e Tamburi’ on November 10, combining music with storytelling; and ‘La Slitta dei Suoni’ on December 15, featuring Christmas-themed music and songs.
