Bonprix unveils garden furniture set amid rising interest in rattan and polyrattan sun islands

A German consumer‑goods guide highlights the differences between natural rattan and synthetic polyrattan for outdoor sun islands. Rattan, derived from palm stems, is lightweight and renewable but less weather‑resistant, requiring protective waxing or coating. Polyrattan, made from polyethylene, offers durability, year‑round outdoor use, and low maintenance, though it is not a renewable resource.

The guide also presents Bonprix's new four‑piece garden furniture collection designed for up to four people. The set includes a two‑seat sofa, two armchairs, an oval table (100 cm × 55 cm) and a bench (135 cm × 68 cm × 67 cm). Frames are steel, cushions are polyester, and the tabletop is made of wipe‑clean polyethylene. Assembly is required, and the manufacturer advises protecting the pieces from harsh weather and storing cushions indoors during winter.
