Book clubs see rising popularity across Europe

Book clubs are experiencing a rise in popularity as readers seek community through shared literary discussion. In Belgium, groups like the Boekbabes meet monthly to discuss a variety of titles, ranging from award-winning books and classics to current hype books. These gatherings often include social elements such as themed dinners to facilitate deeper philosophical discussions.

In the Netherlands, Senia is facilitating various reading and listening clubs covering genres such as philosophy, history, and modern literature. An information session for these clubs is scheduled for October 16, 2026, at De Bibliotheek Vlijmen, where participants can learn about different genres and the structured discussion materials provided by the organization.
