Book Presentation Honors Greek Folk Poet Dimitrios Steriotis in Engouvi

A cultural event in Engouvi, Lefkada will showcase the new volume “Dimitrios Steriotis, the illiterate poet – Folk Poetry”. The book, compiled by researcher Thoma D. Fragoulis and edited by Paraskevi Kopsidá‑Brettou, highlights the work and life of the island’s folk poet. The presentation will feature remarks from the author, a descendant of the poet, and a reading of Steriotis’s verses. Proceeds are earmarked for the local cultural association.

The gathering aims to deepen public appreciation of Lefkada’s oral‑poetic tradition and to celebrate the contribution of the poet to Greek folk heritage.
