Book presentations honor Italian journalistic and political history

Two new books exploring Italian regional history and political shifts were recently presented.

In Giarre, a book titled ‘Alfio Russo. Il Gran Siciliano alla direzione del Corriere della Sera (1961-1968)’, written by Alfio Bonaccorso, will be presented at the Liceo Classico ‘M. Amari’. The volume honors the career of Alfio Russo, a prominent journalist from Sicily who directed major newspapers including La Sicilia, La Nazione, and Corriere della Sera. The work highlights his ability to interpret societal changes and his distinctive journalistic style.

In Ferrara, Luciano Nigro presented ‘Combattendo un sistema di potere. Roberto Montanari e i dieci anni che ribaltarono Ferrara’. The book examines the political landscape of Ferrara between the late 20th and early 21st centuries, focusing on the efforts of Roberto Montanari and Gaetano Sateriale to challenge established power structures and navigate political crises within the left-wing movement.
