Bookfest Chișinău explores the power of reading

During the ninth edition of the Bookfest Chișinău International Book Fair, a panel of speakers discussed the enduring relevance and power of reading in a fast-paced world.

Political scientist and professor Cristian Preda noted that books can be used for both manipulation and defense against it. He cited how political figures can establish identities through written works before appearing as public candidates. Other participants discussed how literature serves as a tool for individualization, a companion for solitude, and a means of protection against misinformation through history and political science.
