The 11th edition of the Bookfest book fair is taking place in Târgu Mureș, Romania, from September 24 to 27 at the National Theatre. Organized by the Romanian Publishers Association, the event features over 20 publishing groups and editorial houses, including Humanitas, Polirom, and Corint.
Visitors can participate in free book launches, debates, and author signings. Mihai Mitrică, executive director of the Romanian Publishers Association, noted that while the book market is currently facing a difficult period, the fair provides a significant boost to the industry by offering discounts and bringing major authors to the region.
Among the featured participants is journalist and crossword creator Alex Toth, who is hosting his first dedicated stand under the brand ‘Cele mai frumoase integrame’. His exhibit includes various crossword publications in both Romanian and English, designed as ‘smart entertainment’ to combine learning with relaxation.
