Booking Holdings reports 118% profit surge to $1.95 billion

Booking Holdings reported a significant financial surge for the second quarter of 2026, with net profit reaching $1.95 billion, a 118% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Total revenue for the group, which includes platforms such as Booking.com, Priceline, and Agoda, rose 8% year-on-year to $7.352 billion. The company also saw a record quarterly gross booking volume of $51 billion, driven by 325 million nights of accommodation booked.

In Spain, the scale of the company's operations is notably larger than its local subsidiary, Booking Hispánica, suggests. While the Barcelona-based subsidiary reported revenues of approximately €53 million and profits of €26 million in 2024, estimates based on reservation commissions indicate that the actual revenue generated from the Spanish market flowing to the Dutch parent company approaches €1.7 billion. The total gross business volume intermediated by Booking in Spain is estimated to be between €8 billion and €11 billion.

Despite the strong financial performance, the company faces legal challenges, including a class-action lawsuit involving more than 10,000 European hotels regarding price parity clauses and commission structures.
