Bookiranje festival promotes diverse literature in Podgorica
The Bookiranje contemporary literature festival, organized by the publishing house Fokalizator, is currently underway in Podgorica. The event features various literary promotions and academic discussions.
Key highlights include the promotion of Afan Latić’s story collection ‘Autograf’, Marko Vešović’s ‘Poljska konjica’, and Krsto Giljen’s expanded poetry collection ‘Džimi do you love me’. Additionally, Albanian author Jonila Godole presented her novel ‘Uputstvo za rušenje’, which explores the collapse of totalitarian systems in Albania.
A panel titled ‘Revisionism and EU Values’ addressed the misuse of history for political purposes, with experts distinguishing between legitimate scientific historical inquiry and politically motivated revisionism. The festival serves as a platform for discussing identity, memory, and the role of the artist in society.
