bookU launches AI tool to automate staffing and shift matching

The Kortrijk-based HR-tech company bookU has developed an artificial intelligence tool designed to automate the complex matching process in staffing agencies. The tool, known as bookU Staffing, automatically connects open shifts with suitable candidates by analyzing factors such as availability, location, experience, preferences, previous performance, contract types, and legal restrictions.

Dutch staffing agency TMI, which specializes in healthcare, reported significant improvements after implementing the technology. The company saw its filled shift rate increase from 60 percent to 83 percent, with shifts now being confirmed within twenty seconds. According to team lead Femke De Bruijn, the agency is filling 60 to 80 percent more shifts monthly using the same planning team.

This automation allows planners to move away from repetitive administrative tasks and focus on building relationships with candidates and clients. Dieter Vanthournout, CEO of bookU, noted that the technology aims to return time to planners so they can leverage their unique knowledge of human connections rather than being overwhelmed by paperwork.
