Boom Chicago improv theater launched careers of Seth Meyers and Jordan Peele

The Amsterdam-based improv theater Boom Chicago served as a significant launching pad for several prominent American comedians, including Seth Meyers, Jordan Peele, and Ike Barinholtz.

In an interview, Seth Meyers described his time at the theater as providing a ‘road map’ that eventually led to his career at ‘Saturday Night Live’. Meyers reflected on his collaborative work with comedian Jill Benjamin, noting that their stage chemistry and improvisational exercises, such as the sketch ‘Bar Pickup’, helped develop their professional skills. The duo recently reunited in Amsterdam to perform their classic routines.
