Boom Festival launches free 'Dia da Boomland' event in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal

On 26 September, the Boom Festival announced the inaugural "Dia da Boomland" – a free, one‑day celebration held at the Herdade da Granja estate in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. The event runs from 09:00 to 19:00 and combines guided nature walks that showcase award‑winning environmental projects, tours of permanent art installations, live concerts, dance workshops, yoga sessions and a gastronomic menu created by Michelin‑starred chef Miguel Rocha Vieira.

Organisers describe the day as an invitation for local communities to celebrate the collective heritage of the region and the festival’s “Boomland” ethos, emphasizing the link between culture, art, sustainability and well‑being. The initiative follows a decade of investment in the interior region, beginning with the acquisition of the estate in 2016, and aims to become an annual occasion that bridges local traditions with the festival’s international culture.
