Boomi acquires Elementary Data to enhance AI data observability

Boomi has announced the acquisition of Elementary Data, a provider of data observability solutions designed to support AI agent workflows. The acquisition aims to integrate observability, quality, governance, and discovery capabilities into the Boomi Enterprise Platform.

Elementary Data, which began as an open-source project in 2022, is currently used by over 1,500 data teams. Its tools provide features such as column-level lineage, data catalogs, and a model context protocol (MCP) server that exposes data context to AI agents. The technology is intended to help enterprises detect and resolve data issues before they impact AI models, devices, or dashboards.

This marks Boomi’s second acquisition of 2026, following the purchase of Lunar.dev. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Elementary Data stated that its product and open-source project will continue without interruption.
